Meet Duke, the unofficial therapy dog
Duke reminds me about unconditional love, trust, curiosity, and kindness. He is always happy to see me. He accepts whatever mood I am in. He expects me to be kind and friendly, so it’s easy to live into that. He melts my heart and reminds me we are connected.
With client interest I sometimes borrow Duke from the folks on the first floor of my office building. They like loaning him out as an unofficial therapy dog.
Some clients appreciate Duke’s gentle presence while they process difficult memories and emotions.

About Me
My background is diverse. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked as an engineer, an educator, and a facilitator. Many of my tech clients appreciate how I can explain psychological concepts for the science-oriented mind. We work with reason and logic as well as emotions and behaviours. By listening to all parts of ourselves, we learn to respond more skillfully to life.
“In nature, nothing exists alone.”
- Rachel Carson
We are all connected. Yet, sometimes the mind creates the illusion of separation. Ecotherapy acknowledges our interdependence with each other and the web of life. Sometimes our mental health is affected by a perceived separation from nature and global environmental concerns like climate change. I aim to create a safe, comfortable space where you can feel connected - to the different parts of yourself, to your communities, and to your environment.
